Yo looks like I found out the hard way why there was no Omega 2, huh.

Regardless! A fruity concoction from you two, with White continuing his dubious taste in fonts and Ren definately stepping up his game. I feel like it's an unwritten thing that the demos in this avi definately make your last offerings look amateurish at best.

As for a more in-depth look, I thought you'd never ask.

Intro:

Cute, wacky font (I love you White, I really do), some sick looking HLTV captures and generally sick rendering. (PS 100mb for a 5 minute avi of this quality? Bam.)

CHAOS STRAFES??

The blend into the action worked well but I get the feeling some people will think ?? because the start of the jump is missing. Great to start on a strong foot though, huh!

Content!:

Not gonna lie, the zg6 jump actually made me laugh a little. I was thinking "oh, cool tribute." before it turned into a lil juggle, at which point I remembered j3 on zg7 and shook a fist at the sky.

finale_r j3 done pretty much so clean it looked textbook.

When poke_prec's cubone jump came up I thought "4 conc prec? You're better than this." How right I would turn out to be~ (Still, cute jump and the map is just sexy as hell :v The fact you can't tell when prethrows are being made is really, really clean in my eye and will come up later. Just adds to the smoothness and takes away from the "this was fluked" side of things.)

So uh, what was the concmap_r deal about? With the same concept you could have done qr4 j1 or something akin to it, it seems really out of place, especially when followed with

--

conc_totoro j1. Again, it just looks so floaty and pristine. No banging around, I even thought "wtf? How're you gonna hit those concs tossing them so late?" This is more like it!

Vengeance jump is adorably mind boggling. Teleports 'n' crouch saves. Great =P

speed2 demo was from the challenge thread iirc? Still cute as hell.

Music changes to denote "serious business time". Game face on. _evolution jump was pretty great, does the end look juggle-able to anyone else? (homage to bc_cm j4, huh Ren? =P) Cute!

conc_void j is one of those demos that doesn't have the same impact (perhaps the monochromatic-esque oeuvre of the map doesn't help). The first part is slick, the second part is highway to the juggle zone :<

_ezh jump is good, prethrow jugglin' reminds you that it's not all a slog!

Tyrant's _mtte jump is fun as hell. Your demo is cleaner than mine. Props, I guess~!

I remember a conversation snippet about _speed2 j10-11 a while back where you were "still" trying to land the connection. Job well done, looks real smooth.

GAME FACE ON, _vardus time. This is when you look back and laugh at poke_prec's apparent simplicity. Plus, chaos strafes. Sick.

Is that ramp overhead after conc 4 on this _evolution jump actually pushing you down? Weird concept but pretty cool nonetheless, haven't seen downward acceleration ramps yet. Good jump, well landed.

This vardus jump is about 10 times as sick as the last one. Had to watch twice to determine prethrows. Stellar.

Prethrows into open space without water or something to hold concs is the most infuriating practice in the world. Good work overcoming it to land that viking jump =P

lol zg2 j2 backwards, how small was the timing window on the third conc? Pretty spectacular finale, even though it doesn't look like the greatest effort I can't imagine sitting down to try that bw even with a gun to my head. Effort++.

Overall this was a pretty fantastic finale (finale?!) avi, with White's superbly crisp, clean editing serving to highlight the smooth concing portrayed.

Outstanding job to both of you, truly a gem.

(ps I am still upset about omega 2 ok)

No problem ren, was a pleasure to edit that lot together. Some insane pre throw work there, not hard to make those demo's look good!!

Everything came together so quickly and easily, simple ideas proving to be effective. No head aches with the music choice (<3 wub) even if all the same band is not to everyone's taste.

And sir wub, I'd gladly make Omega 2, if you feel like being the only person to provide demos :P And maybe you pick the fonts this time?
Come on, the font for the map titles is actually pretty nice.

We probably spent more time arguing about music than recording, huh. It was fun though! I think the music choice this time was accessible enough so that even a music nazi such as myself isn't sat upright in his chair talking about how monotonously dire it is. I'm not a fan, but they're not exactly grating either.

Omega 2 you say? This conversation isn't over.

The editing was nice, but the only thing entertaining about the jumps were the conc_vardus stuff, which all seems straight chain prime (jump does it for you).

Using songs that weren't in avis already is a big plus.

-- Avi is the best conc video to come out in along time. I really enjoyed this video It shows that some concers are still out there to make entertaining conc films. Also glad to see someone finally landed my mtte jump how It was intended to be landed.

--Music, Hey some music I can stand and it worked.

-- Nitpicks nothing major just my conc_evo jump could have used the .rad lighting! (makes it look so much cooler!) Also wasn't feeling the concmap_r demo but hey i'm entitled to not like at least 1 demo.

-- Congrats, I also think you have the best solo avi ever released.

cheers for the replies guys, hopefully a few more people watched it than commented but meh :P

wubz, the evo jumps u mentioned, the "juggleable" one has a hefty func_nogrens in it so no, you can't n00b it ;) and the other one near the end doesn't have a trigger_push, i made it so if u hit conc4 right u go up the back wall and the curvature acts like a ramp using the concs power to throw u round and down, i n00bed it and hit conc4 to early then had to make a bit of a save with conc6 cos i was to high when hitting conc5 :| ... still, landed is landed and it looked ok IMO

and yea tyr, i realised quite some time back that gogs' opinion is about is useful as a chocolate fire guard so i tend not to listen myself, also sorry about your evo jump but i landed it in a beta and really couldnt be arsed recompiling then re-landing the thing again :P

Finally nailed that Chaos strafe mate ;)

Top-notch shizzle right there, i also love the spiral shit at the end of each jump <3. Music wasnt in my taste, but it worked a treat as usual.

Easily the best conc vid in a loooooong time, well done both of you.

Music was real good same with MrWhites job, concin not to mentrion about it, top notch I guess this is were concing skills hits it max limit. The only thing thats the difference is how the jump is made.
Only thing that made me question the movie was the zg juggle one? =O
