Welcome on saturday to try out the new Euroskillz servers with the best specs probably ever used by a skills server. Some people have questioned why we deserve the best. The answer is simple: BECAUSE WE ARE THE BEST  . (ok, i will eat these words before saturday is over probably) During saturday there will be a few mini events announced: - Map release of lego_dm by Rainman
- Map release of quad_wub by guess who?
- Map release of the community map Ez_ConC
The map releases will be spread out over the day so each of them can be enjoyed separatelly. Mod ManiaTons of third party mods have become zombies. Massive work by extremelly talented mod developers in shreds. Euroskillz plans to highlight some of these mods during our coming year by hosting them. Saturday night ends by (hopefully) get a game of INSECTS INFESTATION up and running. This mod is probably put to rest. There is only one server up and running with one bot. On saturday there will hopefully be two  .  Remember to patch from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 I will do my best to try and get a server up. It would be really fun if as many people as possible would come  . Be sure to know what to do in the game. Hope to see you on saturday

Some weirdness with II
When I try and Create a server for Insects Infestation my anti virus blocks it. For some reason the client request a web page which the anti virus says is a known exploit site. If you start Steam in offline mode this wont happen.
Also, the game has bots. Just enable console and type bot_fill_server and there will be bots on both the Termit and Ants teams. But the bots seems to wander around without a clue so they are not very useful. Maybe I am missing some waypoints or something. But this is a standard install so they should be there.
p.s. The bots seems to be just dummies. They are good for practicing building and get a basic clue about the game.

yay maps! gz ren on completing conc_Ez ! and wubber as well. so this insect thing will only be on saturday or will you try n play it consistently??

I will let it run a few weeks. I will not uninstall them. Just look up another mod and start it up. So the mods we have hosted will still be available on request.

Oi, used to love II 1,5 years ago... However it died just away and the last server has an admin running wield on it, he bans anyone who is "too good" für him... Deleted it half a year ago.. well guess its time to reinstall it; hopefully the euroskillz server will be full because the game is really cool if you spend some time on it, dont quit after you get owned on the 1st game, stay at least 5 rounds... thats what it takes to learn the game  greets

yea, shouldnt be too hard to get into it again  downloading it right now, will take another hour... but the server is empty atm anyway :>

Hum pretty buggy  The Termites defense structures dont shoot you like they should and I really dont like the build limits in 1.1.1... was much better in 1.1.0  Well doesnt seem like many ppl want to play it anyway

Yea, that termite defense sucks. After some messing around I managed to get the server to finally add bots so anyone who wanna try it out can at least spawn and build things and try out the classes.
I should have announced some sort of match or event for II but I was to tired. But thanks for the help Blah. Would be a dream to try it out on a full server once to see how it plays.

Aye, it plays really well on a full server  Had LOTS of fun with it when there were more players - just imagine 10 cocoa plants dropping cocoas on the termite base killing all the termites trying to escape  - or really huge games (lasted up to 4 hours) in patch 1.1.0 where there was much less of a build limit  However if you like II you could also set up a ns server ( http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns/ ) - yeah I know that mod is not actually dead but I dont think many of euroskillz actually played it yet... Imo its the very best hl1 mod around and its still a lot of fun  And its kind of simmilar to II, but not monster vs monster but alien vs marine  - both with (different) structures And there would be lots of players if some euroskillz members are around on the server... there are lots of empty servers but the known not-empty servers are pretty full all the time  greets

Exactly what I miss, the long long games from NS. Instead of watching TV you could join a game of NS when you got home. A game that pretty much lasted the whole evening. The weak part is the Commander mode. With two good commanders nothing beats NS but how many games had that? Often some raving, screaming lunatic who had no clue or noone wanted to be commander. Or those comms that starts selling everything :O just because THEY think the game is lost.
The team bonding in these games are amasing though and it is no surprise that NS's community is still strong and supportive.

Aye.. however the games got way too fast in 3.x... I miss 1.04 with the up to 6 hours games..  (and bubblers, strong acid rockets, infinite jps  ) but setting up a server for that wouldnt attract too many players I guess
